What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a gentle, non-invasive training technique that helps the brain learn to regulate itself more effectively. By providing real-time feedback on brainwave activity, neurofeedback encourages the brain to shift from dysregulated patterns into more balanced, functional states—much like guiding a symphony from chaos into harmony.
Where Science Meets Self-Regulation
How Neurofeedback Can Help You
- Quiet that constant background hum of anxiety and inner tension
- Find more stability in your mood, rather than riding emotional highs and lows
- Support trauma recovery by helping your body and brain feel safe again
- Build inner resilience so stressors no longer feel like breaking points
- Experience emotional clarity without needing to fight for control
- Improve your focus and ability to stay present in daily life
- Clear the mental fog that makes thinking feel heavy or disorganized
- Strengthen memory and executive function to feel more capable and confident
- Support regulation in ADHD or autism spectrum presentation without forcing change
- Help your brain heal after concussion, trauma, or injury by supporting real neurological recovery
- Regulate your sleep so you can finally feel rested
- Ease chronic pain or migraines that are linked to nervous system dysregulation
- Rebalance the stress response that keeps your body in "fight or flight"
- Recover from burnout, fatigue, or nervous system exhaustion
- Support whole-body regulation during hormonal shifts, postpartum, or illness recovery
- Strenghten the part of your brain that helps with impulse control and grounding
- Reduce reactivity and cravings while supporting long-term sobriety
- Address the underlying dysregulation that often drives addictive cycles
- Rebuild a sense of stability in your body and nervous system in early recovery
- Sharpen your mental clarity and increase your capacity to focus
- Perform with calm and clarity in high-pressure work, sport, or creative settings
- Deepen your self-awareness and reduce inner noise
- Access flow, confidence, and presence-not just once, but consistently
- Expand your emotional bandwidth for relationships, leadership, and self-growth
Is ILF Neurofeedback Safe?
ILF neurofeedback is widely regarded as a safe intervention when administered by trained professionals. The procedure is non-invasive — no electrical stimulation is applied to the brain, and there are no medications involved. Instead, sensors are placed on the scalp to monitor brain activity, and feedback is delivered through visual, auditory, or tactile signals based on the activity that is already present.
What Does the Research Say?
- Incidence and Nature of Side Effects: The occurrence of side effects with ILF neurofeedback is rare and, when present, typically mild and short-lived. Reported side effects may include temporary fatigue, headache, sleepiness, mild anxiety, or lack of focus. If encountered, these effects generally resolve within 24 to 48 hours without intervention.
- No Lasting Harm: Importantly, there is no evidence of any lasting or serious adverse effects from ILF neurofeedback. If a client experiences discomfort due to an incorrect training frequency, adjustments made in the session or taking a break for a few days leads to a return to baseline brain activity. In multiple clinical reports, including studies on individuals with complex neurological or psychological symptoms, no adverse effects were observed, and participants generally enjoyed the training.
- Comparison to Other Treatments: Compared to other therapeutic interventions, ILF neurofeedback is rated as safer and better tolerated than many alternatives, such as medication or counseling. The non-invasive nature and absence of pharmacological side effects make it a particularly attractive option for those seeking holistic mental health support.
Our Neurofeedback Services
A brain map, or quantitative EEG (qEEG), is a gentle, non-invasive way to better understand how your brain is functioning. At Kaizen Wellness Centre, we use this process to record your brain’s natural electrical activity and explore patterns that may be contributing to how you feel and function day-to-day. Using a comfortable cap with small sensors, we gather information that’s then analyzed and compared to a database of typical brain activity. This helps us identify areas that may need support and guides us in creating a care plan that’s truly tailored to you. We offer a range of brain mapping options—from simple recordings to comprehensive reports—so you can choose the level of insight that feels right for your journey.
Learn MoreNeurofeedback—also known as EEG biofeedback—is a gentle, non-invasive way to help the brain learn to regulate itself more effectively. At Kaizen Wellness Centre, we use the Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) method, a highly individualized and subtle approach that supports deep regulation at the core of brain functioning. Through real-time feedback using visual, auditory, and tactile cues, the brain is gently guided toward more balanced and efficient patterns. Over time, this process can help reduce symptoms related to anxiety, depression, sleep issues, ADHD, trauma, and more. With the support of our trained providers and technicians, neurofeedback encourages lasting change by helping your brain do what it does best—find its way back to balance.
Learn MoreNeuromodulation is a gentle, non-invasive way to support the brain in finding balance and ease. Using calming forms of stimulation—like soft electrical currents, pulsed magnetic fields, or therapeutic light—we help encourage the brain to shift into healthier patterns. This process can improve blood flow, support the growth of new neural connections, and help regulate the nervous system. Many people seek neuromodulation to support healing from anxiety, depression, PTSD, concussion, brain injuries, cognitive fog, chronic pain, sleep issues, and more. It’s also helpful for those with neurodevelopmental conditions or individuals simply looking to feel clearer, calmer, and more focused in their day-to-day life. Neuromodulation meets your brain where it’s at—offering a gentle nudge toward greater balance, connection, and well-being.
